ELEKTRIK BONES is a young group whose sound screams rock, sexy, powerful... their songs are filled with rhythm and depth. Who are the Elektrik Bones? Talented and easy-going guys: Frank on drums, Pierre-Philippe-voice and guitar, supported on stage by Gabriel on bass and Renaud on keys.
Joining forces, their immense artistic talents have got many people talking. With their punk-rock energy and their trash influence, ELEKTRIK BONES has managed to set fire to the world of music!
The release of ELEKTRIK BONES’ first album, produced by the one and only Mark Plati (David Bowie, Prince, Sheryl Crow, The Cure, etc.), is highly anticipated. With titles such as Rainbow, You Hate It, About Last Night, Sex Fight, with tantalizing rhythms, addictive beats and melodies that want to make you dance, this album is in a class all its own. What distinguishes ELEKTRIK BONES from so many other groups is their force, the strength of their songs. They hit hard. The essence of the songs is rock-with the drums and electric guitars there is no denying this-but the melodies are pop. The beats just stay stuck in your head! ELEKTRIK BONES is a name which renders justice to the group-on stage they are electrifying and their music is of the kind that you feel right down deep into your bones!
ELEKTRIK BONES was founded in 2002 by François Chauvette. In its beginnings, the group’s style was that of afro-beat, counting up to 20 artists on stage at one time. It was in meeting Pierre-Philippe Côté, alias Pilou, in 2007 that the group quickly became what it is today, taking on an air of indie-rock. ELEKTRIK BONES was reborn anew, this time with the help of two brothers-Gabriel and Renaud Gratton.
François (Frank) Chauvette (drums) studied Jazz at Saint-Laurent College. He has played with, amongst others, Antoine Gratton, Catherine Major, Cosmik Débris, Slowly Going Deaf, and Yann Perreau, as well as having contributed to the movie Les Triplette de Belleville. He has also collaborated in other music and film projects with Benoît Charest, as well as having cofounded groups Dobacaracol and Mimosa.
Pierre-Philippe Côté (Pilou) is a multi-instrumental artist, playing keys, guitar and bass. He was classically trained at the Montreal Music Conservatory. He has played with, amongst others, Ariane Moffat, DJ Champion, Elisapie Issac, Jorane and Navet Confit.
